Arts Revival is Boosted by New Funding Formula

CVESD worked collaboratively with arts organizations in development of the District's Visual and Performing Arts strategic plan. The strategic plan positioned the District well for significant changes in public education: California's new funding formula for schools, and new state standards. The Board of Education was primed for a critical funding decision in 2014-15, when it announced its commitment to hire full-time VAPA instructors and provide arts instruction during the school day for all students. CVESD made an unprecedented $15 million investment in arts instruction, spread over three

years. This also provided classroom teachers with release time for collaboration. The funding was embedded in the District's Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). Learn how our LCAP helps meet student needs by clicking the link that follows
